Mission
Community cats deserve more than just survival: everyone gets an ear tip and a free snip.
The Pot Roast Project started the way all truly magical journeys begin, with a girl who loves her cat. Pot Roast was a very (respectfully) busted little cat who became a very famous little cat. She brought millions of people together, made them all cry, and launched her mom into a full time cat lady who literally can’t go anywhere without seeing a cat that needs help.
When the absolute love of her life, Pot Roast, died in 2022, she was like, “um…what now?” Where does one turn when their reason for living dies? You look around for a new purpose. Pot Roast’s Mom found that in helping cats.
There were fosters, bottle babies, and then cats so busted they needed round the clock critical care. Then came the outdoor cats, the pregnant cats, the cats that lived in abandoned buildings and underneath the deck of the nicest, down on her luck old lady you’ve ever met. That led her to Trap Neuter Return (TNR).
TNR means crawling under those decks, setting traps in the rain, gaining the trust of a feral by feeding it for weeks. Transporting cats to appointments and keeping them safely contained afterwards. TNR leads to fewer kittens being born outside. It means fewer cats fighting, getting sick, and suffering from untreated injuries. TNR is kind of that girl!
The Pot Roast Project is here to support community cats and the people who care for them. We provide and support Trap Neuter Return, colony assistance, spay/neuter services, veterinary care, transportation, supplies, and education. When a community cat needs more than TNR, we believe in helping with that, too.

The thing about community cats is that it’s never just the cats. It’s a caretaker who needs someone to talk to, food provided, and to learn how to take even better care of their cats. We believe people are so, so good and they just need a little help. The Pot Roast Project is built on the belief that small acts of compassion add up and make the world a better place.
